Carlos V, who reigned in the 1500’s wanted to leave his mark on La Alhambra, so he tore down a big section of the Palacio Nazaries and built his own palace. You can see that it’s a little more Roman than Palacio Nazaries. It’s really striking in its simplicity, especially after leaving Palacio Nazaries. It’s just a big circle. Two floors of pillars. Open in the middle.
